How I Started!

beautiful Sola Ogundipe

I started my business way back in school. I used to be a nail technician then. During my industrial attachment, i started doing home service pedicure and manicure for brides, until a day a bride threw me the challenge of doing her makeup, when her makeup artist didn't show up. I did my best but i knew there was something missing, so i understudied a makeup artist, did a lot of online training and practise too….like i tell my students, 'learning never stops'

it wasn't a smooth ride at all...i was faced with so many challenges like every other person starting a new business face.. choosing an appropriate name, getting your business registered, sourcing for clients and all  that. i bet, not too many people knew i had a "ADEN" registered as a business name before i came up with "EWAR" which was borne out of a serious brain storming session with a very good friend of mine Leke Adenuga of Quart Fotography

I said i wanted something indigenous, something that will encompass beauty in its totality. i thought of 'Arewa" (a yoruba name for a beautiful lady), then i also thought that it might be mistaken for a religious faction in the north!  Leke said why not just 'Ewa" and that was it! ithrew in 'r' just to cause confusion (still can't figure out why i did that....lol) so that's how the name "EWAR" was born. Its  a yoruba word for "beauty" and thats all that i'm about.

just like the picture of Sola i have up, you will notice how much i've grown and sharpen my skills
